In our metalworking division we transform metal into products with a high level of reliability and performance for the industrial sectors, Sector Oil & gas, biomass and energy. We have a flexible production system and highly qualified personnel in the areas of processes, thermal and mechanical that allows us to develop expansion, modernization, and repair projects tailored to the needs of our clients. Our most important asset, human talent -in conjunction with our AQM methodology, infrastructure, and installed capacity- makes our products the best cover letter for any project.

Boilers

Our knowledge and experience allow us to supply boilers as efficient and durable as the best built anywhere in the world. All of our boilers are designed and manufactured following the ASME code, section I guidelines, meet the highest quality standards in the industry, and are the most reliable and durable on the market.

Boilers to operate with gas, biogas, diesel, fuel oil #4 and #6

VR Ingeniería boilers are of the four-pass fire tube type, which guarantees greater efficiency. They are supplied with high-efficiency burners that provide a low oxygen level in the chimney. The boiler can be supplied with an integral economizer that allows increasing energy efficiency according to the inlet temperature of the feed water.

Boilers biomass

We design and build boilers of up to 40 ton / h for different types of biomass, such as residues from the African palm process, coffee husk, wood (even with high humidity), pellets, and cane bagasse, among others.

  • The boilers for pellet operation are of the fire-tube package type with traveling grate stoker.
  • For operation with husks such as coffee and other volatile biomass, the boilers are designed with a cyclonic combustion chamber and ash reinjection.
  • For the African palm process, we offer three boiler models according to the operating pressure: low pressure, up to 10 bar; medium pressure, up to 30 bar, and high pressure, up to 60 bar, with overheating up to 400 ° C.

Coal Boilers

Our line of coal-fired boilers comprises capacities ranging from 100 to 1800 bhp. On boilers up to 1200 bhp, we offer the three-pass package and traveling grate stoker solution. In larger capacities, we offer combined type boilers.

All our models are delivered with an automated system that guarantees low oxygen in the chimney and minimum unburned, making these the most efficient boilers available in the market.

Economizers

VR Ingeniería economizers are designed and manufactured for boilers with capacities greater than 100 bhp to increase their overall thermal efficiency between 4% and 10%, depending on the temperature of the water entering the boiler and associated conditions. They can be supplied with bare or finned tubing with helical, H or double H type aluminum or steel fins. The economizers can be the standard or condensing type if the process allows it.

Deaerators

We supply Spray-Tray with capacities ranging from 3.5 Ton / h to 500 Ton / h. Deaerators are manufactured in accordance with ASME code section VIII div. 1 and HEI recommendations (Heat Exchange Institute) for the design and manufacture of deaerators of Tray type.

Oxygen levels are guaranteed under any load condition below 7 ppb. 

Supplied as a package unit, including instrumentation and control system.

Process equipment for oil & gas

Our portfolio of products for the sector Sector & Gas includes heat exchangers, pressure vessels, oil heaters, columns, heaters, reactors and separators, built in materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, alloyed steels and non-ferrous materials. We integrate process engineering, thermal and mechanical design using proprietary development programs such as VR Boiler CAD which allows the calculation of any kind of thermal equipment in any operating condition and specialized commercial software tools such as HTRI, COMPRESS and ANSYS.

Heat exchangers

VR Ingeniería offers solutions in shell-tube, double tube, multitube type heat exchangers, hairpin, de condensación y reboiler, complying with the international standards ASME, TEMA and API. Through HTRI software we can provide thermal designs for new installations and upgrades for existing projects and spare parts.

The exchangers can be supplied alone “as a single unit” or they can be supplied “as a package unit” mounted on skid, including instrumentation, control and supervision system.

Air coolers

We offer air coolers for condensation or cooling of process fluids utilizing an airstream, complying with the standards:

  • ASME, section VIII, div. 1, U-stamp.
  • API 661 – AIR-Cooled Heat Exchangers.


Type G, type L, or extruded aluminum finned tubes are used

The air coolers can be supplied as a package unit with structure, platform, instrumentation, control, and supervision or only the bays can be supplied for upgrade or modernization of existing equipment.

Pressure vessels

We design and manufacture pressure vessels for installation in refineries, pumping stations, and compression stations for applications such as: 

  • General service
  • Lethal service
  • Service in humid H2S
  • Hydrogen service
  • Service in amine


In all services, we design and manufacture pressure vessels from 15 PSIG to 5000 PSIG.
We specialize in the manufacture of equipment with specifications from the world’s leading process licensee companies such as Axens, UOP, Kellogg, and Exxon.

Oil Heaters

n processes in which it is not possible to make the calorific contribution through a direct system, it is necessary to resort to heating systems with thermal oil. 

The oil heaters supplied by VR Ingeniería can operate with very low pressures and within a temperature range of up to 350 ° C with organic oils and up to 420 ° C with synthetic oils. Corrosion problems are non-existent in oil heaters and their low risk enables them to be located in the work areas themselves without the need for special civil works.

Reactor parts

For the Oil & Gas sector, VR Ingeniería has specialized in the supply of spare parts for reactors and regenerators of refineries with a high degree of demand in terms of manufacturing standards, manufacturing materials, and product quality.

Special projects

When our clients require it, VR Engineering is able to develop special projects that are not within our portfolio of standard products and services, but for which we are highly qualified.

Superheaters and desuperheaters

The superheaters designed and manufactured by VR Ingeniería aim to increase the overall thermal efficiency of the system and reduce the risk of condensation of the steam transferred to the point of use. They can be supplied with bare or finned steel tubes of the helical, H, or double H type.

or processes in which it is required to cool superheated steam to bring it a few degrees above saturation conditions, we supply mechanical type or Venturi type desuperheaters, depending on the specific application of the process.

Refractories and casings

We have specialized in the installation of a low, medium, and high-density refractories for critical process equipment that are subjected to high temperatures and highly erosive fluids and that require a refractory or anti-erosive coating to protect the structural parts of the equipment.

The refractory installation is carried out on hexagonal mesh, V-anchors, or S-bars depending on the process and type of refractory used.
