Types of heat exchangers
Heat exchangers are calculated to achieve optimum flow rates in relation to heat transfer. Materials are carefully selected to minimize erosion and corrosion and where possible readily available materials are used, in commercial sizes for short lead times and compatibility with future orders and rebuilds. Heat exchangers are tested in accordance with standard tests and hydrostatic test certificates are issued.

TEMA – (The Tubular Exchange Manufacturers Association): TEMA standards and software have gained worldwide acceptance as the authority in the mechanical design of shell and tube heat exchangers.
- Class R: Includes heat exchangers used in the oil industry and similar processes.
- Class C: Encompasses heat exchangers in commercial and general processes.
- Class B: Includes heat exchangers used in chemical processes.
ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) has developed a code for the design, construction, inspection, and testing of boilers and pressure vessels. This code has global acceptance and is used worldwide. VR Ingeniería currently holds certification with:
